Using SQL Server 2012s Always On (Duration 75 minutes)
Abstract: This session we will look at the features which are provided with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 as part of the "Always On" features including site to site configurations to allow of a large scale high availability solution without the need for any high end SAN storage solution.

Shree Khanal is a Database Architect, Speaker and trainer. Shree has worked with SQL Server for more than 8+ years and specialises in Data and Business Intelligence. He founded the Himalayan SQL Server User Group (www.sqlpassnepal.org) based in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Excel 2013 PowerPivot in Action(Duration 90 minutes)
Abstract:Excel 2013 and Business Intelligence: a marriage made in heaven. PowerPivot and Power View, the two most exciting BI tools in the Microsoft stack are now integrated into Excel 2013, providing the perfect environment where to build self-service BI solutions. In this session we will see how to create a business solution from scratch, from loading tables inside PowerPivot, enriching them with new data, building complex formulas using the DAX language, leveraging the materialization of DAX queries in Excel and finally building dashboards and reports using the new PivotTable features and Power View. The goal of the session is to provide a clear understanding of the power of BI in Excel 2013 and raise your curiosity about the DAX language and the Tabular architecture.

Marco Russo is a Business Intelligence (BI) consultant and mentor. His main activities are related to data warehouse relational and multidimensional design, but he is also involved in the complete development life cycle of a BI solution. He has particular experience and competence in such sectors as financial services (including complex OLAP designs in the banking area), manufacturing, gambling, and commercial distribution.
Marco is also a book author and, apart from his BI-related publications, has written books on .NET programming. He is also a speaker at international conferences such as PASS Summit, SQLRally, and SQLBits.
He has achieved the unique SSAS Maestro certification and is also a Microsoft Certified Trainer with several Microsoft Certified Professional certifications.
What's New in Analysis Services 2012?(Duration 90 minutes)
Abstract: Lots has changed in Analysis Services 2012! You now have to choose between the Multidimensional Model and the Tabular Model, but when should you use which? And what is the BI Semantic Model? This session will answer all of these questions and more, including:
* Explaining what the Multidimensional and Tabular Models are, where PowerPivot fits in and what the BI Semantic Model is
* Why we have to choose and what the future is likely to hold for SSAS
* What's new in the Multidimensional Model?
* How to build a simple Tabular Model
* When you should use a Tabular Model and when you should use a Multidimensional Model
